D-Day!

June 15th is the day where we will execute our plan. After 2 phases before where cleaning and flooring were discharged, now we do the mural, window and door fixing also exterior painting. The other group also will do their own role such as carrying in the furniture, attaching the learning aid also arranging the book.
We departed on 9 am from Taylors and arrived there around 10 am something due to traffic jam. After arriving at Sekeping Serendah,  as I was in mural group also one of the leader of mural paint, I have told my team to directly execute the plan. As we have decided what's role we are on previous day so first we laying newspaper around the wall and floor so the paint won't drip to the floor. Few of us prepared the paint first by moving it from the paint bucket into containers.

Then we painted the base color which is light green to all surface of the walls. We focused more on wall with the window first since those walls will be attached learning aid by the teams on 2pm.

Applying base color first

After light green has been applied on the wall especially the below part, we tried to paint upper part but it is so difficult since we only have one ladder so some of us use chair to paint even though it won't reach all part but at least we are progressing. Some of us also paint the corner part of window and wall since it must be painted in the same color too.
It needs about an hour for paint to dry completely. So what we do is painting the window part and attach the lock key on there.
The next step is sketch the mural using pencils, 4 of us sketch the cactus and plants on the wall, it took about 30 minutes to sketch. After that we have our lunch break and continue the mural.
We paint the base color for cactus then give the gradient and details on it.

As doing the mural we do face some problems as dripping paint on the floor but luckily Alice helped to clean it. Also we lacked of ladder so it took time to finish painting the upper wall.

Painting mural

We finished it until around 7 pm for mural paint with painting all the upper part also paint the window frame. Then we cleaning the utensils we used and get rid of the newspaper on the floor. Then the furniture and learning aid team come in to arrange their things. The last task we did is throwing the garbage which has been put on Jing Nee's car.

Today was tired but I feel satisfied with the result, I hope what we did will be useful for the Orang Asli Village especially the kids. We do feel exhausted in the end but with the great teamwork we can finish this with less tired and thinking the usage for the kids is enough to pay our hardworks.
